To celebrate the spirit of the holiday season, all of us at Montridge have selected a cause close to our hearts to donate to.
Dress For Success – Natasha Norbjerg
My charity of choice is Dress for Success. Established in New York in 1997, Dress for Success has spread throughout the world. Their mission is to empower women into the workforce by providing them with professional attire, career services, and skills development programs.
The work that Dress for Success does is personal to me for a few reasons. First, anyone who knows me knows that “fashionista” is my unofficial job. I truly believe that a great outfit can make you feel confident, inspired and powerful. Walking into an interview or beginning a new job can be scary and intimidating, but knowing you look great makes the task easier to conquer.
Additionally, Dress for Success provides professional attire to those who otherwise could not afford it, and also provides which career counselling and guidance, which is an amazing accomplishment.
Finally, in this ever-changing world and current politically-charged climate, I believe it’s more important than ever to empower women in the workplace. Dress for Success is doing exactly that and I couldn’t be more proud to support them and the work they do.
